The fourth annual Desert Classic Concours d’Elegance in La Quinta, CA, just outside Palm Springs on Feb. 27, is expected to attract thousands of classic and vintage car enthusiasts. The classic car show will showcase more than 200 classic and vintage cars from across the United States, Canada and Europe. Billed by Der Spiegel magazine as one of the “Top Ten Classic Car Shows in the World,” the 4th Annual Concours d’Elegance & Vintage Car Auction will be highlighting “100 Years of Indy Cars,” marking the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500. Some of the iconic cars on display will be the 1913 Isotta Fraschini from the Indy 500, a 1920 Bugatti Type 13 Brescia, a 1930 Model L-29 Cord and a 1933 Maserati Grand Prix 8-CM. The Desert Classic Concours d’Elegance will be the first major car event of the year to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500. In its honor, we will display many of the significant cars that have participated in ‘The greatest spectacle in racing’ over the past century.
Many of the rarely seen cars have come from private collections and museums. The classic event also includes fine food and wine, up-scale vendors, music and displays of other collectible items such as watches and art. Moreover, EG Auctions is going to hold an auction of 75 finely restored automobiles, and this event will run along with the Concours on the Mountain Golf Course.
On Feb.25, EG Auctions will offer a preview of the Desert Classic Vintage Car Auction, and the cars shown will be a 1925 Lincoln Model L Limousine owned by Greta Garbo and a 1956 Rolls Royce owned by Cary Grant.
The tickets to the Concours & Auction cost $25 in advance and $35 on the day of the event.
